Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the time zone for the deadline to submit entries?

A: Eastern Time (ET)

Q: Can our firm name be mentioned in the entry?

A: No. The awards are anonymous during the judging process. Please do not reference the design firm, designers, fabricators, etc in the project description, images, or captions of your entry.

Q: Where do I enter the credits for our project(s)?

A: If the project is selected to receive an award, SEGD will contact you to confirm all credits and project information.

Q: Should I include the caption directly on the image?

A: No. Please include the caption in the text box connected to each image upload.

Q: Do I have to include our budget for the project?

A: No. If you do not want to include the budget information on your entry, simply put ‘N/A’ for that line item.

Q: What size should the image be for the .jpg?

A: Image size should be 300dpi and less than 5MB.

Q: The images I upload look blurry once uploaded. Do I need to submit a higher resolution?

A: No. The thumbnail may look blurry on your end, but the actual sized image is clear when downloaded by SEGD. If there is a problem with resolution, SEGD will contact you.

Q: Can I have more than one image per upload?

A: In general, it should be one image per upload. However, we do allow some uploads to have more than one image included such as "before and after" images on the same upload.

Q: I am not sure which category to enter. What should I do?

A: Use your best judgment. If a juror feels it is better represented in a different category, we will make that change. Your project will not be penalized if entered in an incorrect category.

Q: Can I enter a project in multiple categories?

A: Yes. If you have aspects of a project that could be represented in different categories, feel free to do so. However, each entry requires payment for each category entered.

Q: Do I have to pay a late fee for each project submitted after January 31, 2024?

A: Yes. There is a $100 late fee per project entered between February 1 and February 14, 2024. There is a $150 late fee for any project entered between February 15 and February 29, 2024.

Q: I started to enter my project before January 31, but did not submit the project until after January 31. Do I still have to pay the late fee?

A: Yes. The late fee applies to any project submitted after January 31, 2024.

Q: When will I find out if my project(s) was selected as an award winner?

A: You will receive an email from SEGD regarding your project(s) by the end of March at the latest. Award winning projects will be publicly announced and honored September 26-28, 2024 at the SEGD Conference in Dallas, TX.
